Only one page is projected, so if you have a traditional, multi-page PDF pattern, you&#x2019;ll want to merge your tile pages together using a third-party PDF editing software. This will create a projectable file by digitally taping each page of the PDF file together for you.</li></ul>How do I know if my PDF pattern can be projected?<ul><li>Check your pattern to ensure all pattern pieces are in one large area, as opposed to multiple pages, and that your projection area is within our parameters. You can check your projection dimensions under the document properties tab.</li></ul>What size does my pattern need to be on the file?<ul><li>The smaller size of the PDF must be 60&#x201D; or less. For example, it could be 140&#x201D;x48&#x201D; or 60&#x201D;x120&#x201D; but not 75&#x201D;x125&#x201D; or 139&#x201D;x69&#x201D;.</li></ul>Can I customize the size of my PDF patterns?<ul><li>Sizing is the same as with other PDF uploads. The sizing is what is provided with the file and can&#x2019;t be customized.</li></ul>How do I make my projected line larger and increase visibility?<ul><li>Using a third-party PDF editing software, select the layers tab and change line thickness to at least 5 pt. and select apply. Then select generate PDF. Occasionally you may have to make this setting a little higher depending upon your projection environment.&#xA0;</li><li>Check the instructions for seam allowances as every third-party pattern company may be different. To keep from interfering with the projected line, always cut on the outside of the line.</li></ul><h2 id="storage">Storage</h2>Where can I see my uploaded patterns?<ul><li>Your PDF patterns will be in My Pattern Library/My Uploads on the app and website.</li></ul>How many patterns can I upload?<ul><li>You can have 5 patterns at a time in your Library. This space is meant for projection, not data storage.</li></ul><h2 id="workspace">Workspace</h2>Can I move the pieces in the workspace?<ul><li>Uploading a PDF pattern with Ditto is the same as with any other projector. You can&#x2019;t move the pieces around.</li><li>Although you cannot rotate in the workspace, you can do so in a PDF viewer or editor. Prior to uploading the file to your account, rotate the pattern page to the orientation you would like to project and save. When you upload, it should show up the same way.</li></ul>Is there a way to see all the pieces when I project a PDF?<ul><li>While you may not see all pieces at once, you can use the splicing tool to move your visible window around the pattern to see more pieces.</li></ul><h2 id="tools-needed">Tools Needed</h2>What if I run out of pattern target stickers?<ul><li>You can use a fabric marker, or you can find &#xBE;&#x201D; circle stickers at most office supply stores.</li></ul>

Calibrating this way accounts for fabric height and ensures accurate sizing. When the system is calibrated, put the cutting mat back under the fabric. Trace or cut on the wrong side of the fabric. Calibrate the projector again before tracing or cutting additional fabrics of standard thickness.</li></ul>

Other brands offer projectable patterns in sizes and fits their customers have grown to love and expect.</li></ul>Where can I find the measurements available?<ul><li id="isPasted">You can find the size charts for any pattern located in the size section on the specific pattern page.</li><li>Ditto brand patterns are made to measure, which you can view on the <a href="http://dittopatterns.com">Ditto website</a>. From the account section, select My Account. Then click Measurement Profiles from the left-bound navigation bar. This page allows you to create, edit, or delete a profile. Select + Create New Profile to get started. Accounts can have an unlimited number of profiles.&#xA0;</li></ul>What are the bust adjustments?<ul><li>Adjustments for the bust can be made when the sewist adds both the bust circumference and underbust circumference. The difference in those two measurements will define cup size.</li></ul>Do the Ditto women&apos;s patterns go above size 28?<ul><li>Ditto patterns range from size 0 to 28. However, please keep in mind that all Ditto patterns are made to measure, so all body measurements can be personalized, and the pattern result will fit any body perfectly.</li></ul>Do the Ditto men&apos;s patterns go above size 52?<ul><li>Although our men&#x2019;s patterns go up to a size 52, with our made to measure feature, one can enter measurements that extend further out than the standard measurement of size 52 and the system will adjust the pattern to accommodate those measurements.</li></ul>What if I&#x2019;m having trouble reading the words and marks on my projected pattern?<ul><li>Double tap the pattern piece in the workspace to bring up a pop-up zoom of the piece. Use two fingers to zoom in and out. I see a tiny problem with matching patterns.<ul><li id="isPasted">The Ditto cutting mat is needed for <a href="https://singer.gorgias.help/en-US/ditto-calibration-415413">calibration</a>. Once it&#x2019;s calibrated, you may switch to another mat&#x2013;although it isn&#x2019;t recommended or needed, as this mat was developed for use throughout the project.&#xA0;</li><li>Ditto was developed with a<a href="https://singer.gorgias.help/en-US/ditto-splicing-415423"> technique called splicing</a> that accommodates pattern pieces larger than the 36&#x2033; x 24&#x2033; cutting mat included with the system. Splicing uses target stickers to connect linked sections of a pattern piece to yield the user one accurately cut, oversized pattern piece.</li><li>Caution! Do not use the Ditto cutting mat for other crafts, as glue and paint will show up on your picture and could alter your pattern marks.</li></ul>

Inside, you will find the beam (2 parts), the projector, bubble level, power cord, cord covers (3), pattern weights (4), target stickers, rotary cutter, and the cutting mat.</li><li>When constructed, the longer side of the beam will rest on the floor while the shorter side will connect with the ceiling. Start by sliding the bubble level onto the lower beam. Then, connect the lower and upper sections of the beam. Push and turn the knob on the back of the projector clockwise to lock the two sections together.</li><li>Loosen the base knob at the bottom of the beam to extend the spring-loaded foot. Turn the beam upright and place the base on the floor, about a foot from the wall. Step on the footpad to hold it in place and slowly extend the beam up toward the corner of the ceiling and the wall. Tighten the base knob.</li><li>Push the beam down to move it away from the wall. Carry the beam over to your workspace at an angle. With the flat side toward the table, position it about one inch from the table. Push the beam down again to position it between the floor and ceiling. Adjust as needed to make it perpendicular to both surfaces. Center the bubble level to confirm correct positioning.</li><li>Next, slide the projector carrier down so that you can reach it. Attach the projector with the lens facing the ceiling. Rotate it down so that the lens faces your worktable.</li><li>Unfold the cutting mat and place it with the logo facing outwards, away from the beam.</li><li>Plug the power cord into the wall and then into the projector.</li><li>Adjust the projector carrier until the projected red line rests on top of the white frame of the cutting mat.</li><li>Finally, maneuver the power cord inside of the beam and snap the cord covers into place. Now you are ready to calibrate.&#xA0;</li></ul>

Compatible devices include iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.</li><li>Make sure to download the Ditto app and log in. You will need to create an account if you have not already.</li><li>Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your device. You can find this in Settings.</li><li>Connect by clicking the menu icon in the upper right corner of the Ditto Patterns app homepage. Click Settings, and then Manage Projector. The app will automatically search for projectors. If no projectors are found, check your Ditto to make sure it is plugged in and select the yellow Search for projectors button to find your device. You can follow the same process using the Connect button in the Workspace.</li><li>Allow Ditto Patterns to find, connect, and determine the location of nearby devices. Choose your projector from the list. Make sure to choose the same network used by your mobile device. When prompted, enter the Wi-Fi password. Click CONNECT PROJECTOR TO WIFI when finished.</li><li>The in-app projector label will change from Waiting to Connect to Connected. Now you are <a href="https://singer.gorgias.help/en-US/ditto-calibration-415413">ready to Calibrate</a>.</li><li>If you receive a Projector Connection failed pop up, simply close out of your Ditto app completely and reopen it. Follow the above steps again to reconnect.</li></ul>Mobile Device Connection Requirements<ul><li id="isPasted">Wi-Fi: See the Wi-Fi network requirements listed below.</li><li>BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) Software: Your mobile device must support Bluetooth version 4.2 or higher.</li><li>Camera: You need a device with a camera to calibrate the Ditto projector.</li><li>Operating System: Older devices may not support BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and cannot update to the latest operating systems. The app will not work with Harmony Operating System. Ditto supports the latest three versions of iOS and Android operating systems.</li></ul>Wi-Fi Network Requirements<ul><li id="isPasted">Ditto is compatible with Wi-Fi versions Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/n/ac/ax 2.4GHz and/or 5 GHz (dual-band).</li><li>Ditto is not compatible with the Access Point (AP) Isolation security feature. This feature prevents device-to-device visibility and communication on home, enterprise, and public/guest networks. If possible, reconfigure the Wi-Fi router settings to disable AP Isolation.&#xA0;</li><li>Ditto is not compatible with hidden Wi-Fi networks or &#x2018;Wide Open&#x2019; (Guest) networks that do not require a username and password.&#xA0;</li><li>The Ditto app passes Wi-Fi credentials to the projector, and some account firewalls prevent this. Please contact your internet service provider to turn this off so Ditto can &quot;see&quot; the network and connect via the app process.</li><li>If Ditto loses Wi-Fi connection, a message will appear on the screen and the projection will change to Waiting to Connect. Close out of the Ditto Patterns app and restart the projector before following the Connectivity Steps to reconnect.</li></ul>Troubleshooting TipsIf connection problems persist, try the tech troubleshooting options below. Call customer service at 1-888-844-5582 if you need further assistance, or fill out the <a href="https://www.dittopatterns.com/contactus/">contact form</a> on the Ditto Patterns website.&#xA0;<ul><li id="isPasted">Use the main Wi-Fi in your home. Guest Wi-Fi settings may prevent device connection.</li><li>Close the Ditto Patterns app completely and reopen it.</li><li>Check to see if there are any updates available for the Ditto Patterns app. Completely close and reopen the app after updating.</li><li>Check to see if there are any updates available for your mobile device.</li><li>Shut down and restart your mobile device.</li><li>Unplug and reconnect your projector.</li><li>Restart your Wi-Fi router.</li></ul>

It should be clean and free from markings or target stickers.</li><li>Dim the lights in the room and cover nearby windows.</li><li>Next, open the Ditto app on your phone or tablet and connect to your projector. You can connect by clicking the menu icon in the upper right corner of the app homepage, clicking Settings, and then Manage Projector. Select the yellow Search for projectors button to find your device. You can also use the Connect button in the Workspace. Watch this video for a visual guide.</li><li>Select your pattern with the desired size/measurement specifications and open the workspace.</li><li>Click the Calibrate button that appears under the workspace.</li><li>You may need to update your app permissions to allow camera access. Remember to adjust the projector carrier until the projected red line rests on top of the white frame of the cutting mat.</li><li>Select Continue and step back from the table, opposite the projector. Photograph the cutting mat, making sure to capture all four corners in the picture.</li><li>Click Retake if needed. When finished, click Submit.</li><li>The app will notify you on the success of the calibration. If it fails, try retaking the cutting mat picture. After calibrating successfully, you can project.</li><li>Organize your workspace and select SEND TO PROJECTOR.</li><li>If the calibration was successful but the projected image looks odd/off, select the Calibrate button again and redo the calibration process. It should only take a few minutes.</li></ul>NotesIf using a thick, fluffy fabric, remember to calibrate with the fabric spread out and the cutting mat placed overtop it. Calibrating this way accounts for fabric height and ensures accurate sizing. When the system is calibrated, put the cutting mat back under the fabric. Trace or cut on the wrong side of the fabric. Calibrate the projector again before tracing or cutting additional fabrics of standard thickness.One of the requirements for Ditto is a flat work surface. Ditto&#x2019;s calibration technology was designed to calibrate easily with a snap of a picture and eliminate the need for any manual adjustments. The system fully calibrates on its own through an algorithmic calculation.

The difference in those two measurements will define cup size.Men&apos;s SizingMen&#x2019;s patterns range from size 35 to 52. However, using the made to measure feature, users can enter measurements that extend further out than the standard size 52 and the system will adjust the pattern to accommodate those measurements.Partner Brand Patterns<a href="https://singer.gorgias.help/en-US/ditto-partner-brand-patterns-415430">Partner brand patterns</a> are not made to measure. Ditto App Workspace

With Ditto, pattern splicing allows users to project and cut pattern pieces larger than the dimensions of the projectable workspace. Here are step-by-step instructions for splicing.

Pattern splicing allows users to project and cut pattern pieces larger than the dimensions of the projectable workspace. You cannot mirror or rotate spliced pieces, as they require multiple frames to fully project. The workspace must be clear of all other pattern pieces when splicing. To start, drag and drop the pattern piece into the Workspace and tap SEND TO PROJECTOR. If your pattern piece requires more than two frames, you may want to trace the entire piece with tailor&#x2019;s chalk before cutting any fabric, especially if you are new to the splicing feature. View the entire splicing map via the right tab for a better understanding of next steps.</li><li>Use your pattern weights to hold the fabric in place. Mark the red dots on the projection with your target stickers. Leave these in place until you finish cutting/tracing the piece. Transfer the pattern markings with a washable fabric marker.</li><li>Cut out/trace the current projection. Leave the open edge uncut so that you can project the rest.</li><li>Next, tap the red arrow in the Workspace to move your pattern piece to the next frame. Select SEND TO PROJECTOR.</li><li>Realign the red dots with your target stickers by following arrows on the projection. Cut the rest of the pattern piece.</li><li>If your pattern piece has multiple frames, repeat steps 4&#x2013;5 until complete. Add new target stickers as they appear in the projection.</li></ul>Fabric Size<ul><li>Determine the fabric dimensions needed for a spliced pattern piece with the steps below:</li><li>Lay out your fabric.</li><li>Project the spliced pattern piece and measure the first projection frame.</li><li>Mark the location of the splice target projections with the target stickers.</li><li>Move the projection and fabric to the other end of the spliced pattern piece.</li><li>Measure from your marked targets to the other end of the projection.</li></ul>

These tools are specific to cutting.Cutting MatThe Ditto cutting mat is needed for calibration. Once it&#x2019;s calibrated, you may switch to another mat&#x2013;although it isn&#x2019;t recommended or needed, as this mat was developed for use throughout the project. Ditto was developed with a <a href="https://singer.gorgias.help/en-US/ditto-splicing-415423">technique called splicing</a> that accommodates pattern pieces larger than the 36&#x2033; x 24&#x2033; cutting mat included with the system. Splicing uses target stickers to connect linked sections of a pattern piece to yield the user one accurately cut, oversized pattern piece.&#xA0;Caution!&#xA0;Do not use the Ditto cutting mat for other crafts, as glue and paint will show up on your picture and could alter your pattern marks.Rotary Cutter or ScissorsYou will find a rotary cutter in your Ditto box. This tool makes fabric cutting quick and simple. If preferred, you can cut the projection with a pair of scissors, or trace with a marking tool and then cut with a pair of scissors.Tailor&apos;s Chalk/Other Marking ToolsYou can cut the fabric by following the projected pattern piece lines. However, we do recommend that you trace the pattern pieces when there is a multidirectional splice required. This way, you can see how the full pattern piece will look on the fabric before cutting.How to Cut<ul><li>First, trace your pattern piece with a marking tool. This is optional, but recommended for multidirectional splicing. You will want to mark notches and other pattern notations.&#xA0;</li><li>If you are having trouble reading the words and marks on the projected pattern, double tap the pattern piece in the workspace to bring up a pop-up zoom of the piece. Use two fingers to zoom in and out. You can also put a piece of paper under the projected image to see the markings more clearly.</li><li>Lay out your fabric with the grain line in the correct direction. Place the pattern weights on the fabric.&#xA0;</li><li>Use your rotary cutter or scissors and cut on the outside of the projection line.</li></ul>Seam AllowanceA standard 5/8&quot; seam allowance is included in all Ditto patterns.
